Top Tranmission Brands & Manufacturers
Some of the most popular transmission manufacturers include Eaton, Tremec, Allison, Mack, Volvo, Daimler, and Mitsubishi. While it may seem like a less expensive to rebuild a transmission, many times a remanufactured transmission will give you more bang for your buck because they come with warranties.
For example, remanufactured Eaton 10 speed, 10 speed autoshift, and 18 speed autoshift transmissions all come with a 2 year manufacturer’s warranty.
Heavy Duty & Semi Truck Tranmission Repair, Rebuild, & Replacement Cost
Replacement parts to rebuild a semi truck transmission cost over $10,000 before parts and labor are added into the equation. Expect to pay a minimum of $5,000 in labor to rebuild a manual semi-truck transmission (class 8).
If you are considering having a new one put in, consider a remanufactured transmission as a more affordable option.
